Gate and cladding for New Burlington Mews, Regent Street
Bronze, Portland stone
Commissioned by The Crown Estate, 2014
Architect: AHMM, Art consultant: Philomena Davidson
This work is inspired by the heritage of the Regent Street area. In the early 20th century when John Nash's Regent Street facade was rebuilt, the area was a hub for clock and watch makers. The commission takes inspiration from engravings on turn of the century pocket watches and offers a link to the past through a contemporary expression of mechanical time-keeping.
